Douglas Simpson Wingfield, 65 , of Prescott Valley, AZ died Wednesday, July 5, 2000, in Prescott Valley.

    He was born June 10, 1935, in Camp Verde, to Harry and Catherine (Simpson) Wingfield.

    Mr. Wingfield served in the Navy during the Korean War.  He worked as a heavy equipment and crane operator, and was a member of Operating Engineers Union Local No. 428 for more than 30 years.

   He married Peggie Reams on July 28, 1967.  Mr. Wingfield was a member of the America Legion, and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

   Surviving are his wife, Peggie: daughter, Shannon of Salem, Ore.; sisters, Jean of Mormon Lake, AZ and Gladys of Oak Grove, ORE.; and four grandchildren.

   Cremation was private at Bradshaw Crematory, Prescott Valley, AZ.

   Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home helped the family with arrangements.
