Memorial
services for Gerald Dutton, 71 of Conroe will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, March
23, 2004 in the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bill Taylor
officiating. Visitation will be held, 6 to 9 p.m., Monday, March 22, 2004 at
Cashner Funeral Home. Mr. Dutton was born July 30, 1932 in Burkburnett, Texas
and passed away March 19, 2004 in Conroe, Texas. He was a Mason and Shriner,
District Commissioner for the Boys Scouts for 49 years, Member of the First
United Methodist Church and Beacon Sunday School Class, Coach of the American
Legion Girls Softball and Boys Baseball Teams, member of the Good Sams Camping
club, Meandering Methodist Club and National Camping Methodist Club. He was
employed by Phillips Petroleum for 31 years. He played football and graduated
from East New Mexico University. He served his country in the U.S. Army, during
the Korean War. He is preceded in death by his brothers: Orin, Derald and Olan
Dutton and a sister, Ola Watson. Survivors include his wife: Betty, of Conroe;
daughters, Gerry Rice and husband Roger of Katy, Jayne Seabrook and husband Trey
of Allen, Kara Poovey and husband Joe of Nevada, Texas; son, Kyle Dutton of
Conroe; sister, Estherline Adams of Portales, N.M.; grandchildren, Jennifer
Bailey, Jessica Seabrook, Kasey Poovey, Erica Seabrook, Corrie Poovey, Makayla
Seabrook, Nathan Rice, Brandon Rice, Joe Poovey, Joshua Dutton, Travis Rice,
Jason Rice and Trevor Seabrook; great-grandchildren, Grayson Bailey, Zaine Rice
and numerous other relatives and friends all survive. In lieu of flowers, the
family wishes donations be made to the building fund of the First United
Methodist Church of Conroe, 4308 W. Davis Street, Conroe, TX 77304. You may
