Wingfield, Harold T. "Duke"
of Birchwood, Minnesota. At age 77, on Feb 13, after an arduous battle with
esophageal cancer. Preceded in death by parents Clarence and Mildred, and
brother Clary. Survived by Diane "Skippy," devoted wife of 52 years. Also
survived by children David (Alice), Jeff (Ellen), and Mary; grandchildren Sarah,
Keirna, Liam, Patrick and Max; and brother Robert (Virginia) and sister-in-law
Elaine Moreland. Graduate of Purdue University in chemical engineering. Sergeant
in the U.S. Army occupation of northern Italy. Retired as lab manager for 3M
after 35 years, during which time he obtained two U.S. patents. Co-chair of
Birchwood 4th of July parade for many years. Loved golfing, boating, and fixing
things—of which his family kept him well supplied. A memorial service will be
held at ST. JOHN'S IN THE WILDERNESS EPISCOPAL CHURCH, 2175 First St., White
Bear Lake on Fri, Feb 17 at 11AM. Memorials preferred to Habitat for Humanity.
