Samuel Barnett Wingfield age 60 of Martinez, GA died April 4, 2000 at Doctor's Hospital in Augusta, GA. He was born in Lake Wales, FL but moved with his parents to Georgia at an early age. He graduated from Augusta College with a degree in business and was employed at the Georgia Railroad Bank in Augusta. He retired from the Medical College of Georgia as assistant comptroller in 1980.

Sam is survived by his wife, Frances, his mother Mrs. Pearl Wingfield and sister, Mrs. Joanne Miller, his mother-in-law Mrs. Helen Lawrence and a number of nieces and nephews.  Graveside services were held at Madison Memorial Park Cemetery, Madison, GA. Sam and Frances had been members of the Wingfield Family Society since 1988.
